USIS is a global supplier of security solutions for mission critical needs to the federal government under more than 70 contracts, the largest supplier of background investigations to the federal government and a major provider of pre-employment screening and drug testing services to commercial businesses nationwide. The company offers its solutions to a wide range of commercial industries including retail, trucking, transportation, healthcare, financial services, and gaming.   

USIS National Security Division (NSD) undertook a project to enhance their CRM platform from SugarCRM™ OpenSource to an upgraded instance of SugarCRM™ PRO On-Demand. Intelestream was called upon for their knowledge and expertise surrounding the SugarCRM™ suite of products, to guide and support the execution of that endeavor.

During the project Intelestream helped fuse two separate instances of SugarCRM™ OpenSource that had previously been used by two teams into a single upgraded instance of SugarCRM™ PRO On-Demand. Other highlights of service include:

  • Analysis of USIS’s CRM environment to optimize the scope and approach taken for converting and migrating their CRM to the Sugar hosted environment.
  • Extensive training for trainers and administrators, plus various user-adoption methods that have ensured rapid transformation to the new system.
  • Post –implementation support coordinated with Sugar technical staff to troubleshoot issues and resolve bugs 

The upgraded system has enabled USIS NSD’s business development teams to take advantage of new features and functionality such as advanced reporting and Outlook integration, as well as enhancements in applicable areas including sales tracking, pipelines status information, opportunity management, staff productivity, forecasting, and reporting on other various metrics. 

Intelestream completed the entire implementation on schedule and according to project plan, while efficient progress saved USIS approximately 28% from the contracted statement of work. USIS will continue to work closely with Intelestream and has engaged the consulting firm in an ongoing premier support and administration plan.
